CRC Team

Champions of 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022 CRC Competition

Even though the pandemic made it a very difficult robotics season, the Marcellines did not stop working! The class of 2021 made history for Marcelline Robotics by participating with two teams instead of one. Both teams showed perseverance and determination, and won most of the competition prizes, the competition cup, the overall second place and the sportsmanship cup. We are undoubtedly proud of them, not just for the awards they amassed, but for their involvement, their tenacity, and their solidarity during the most complex season in the history of Marcelline Robotics.

Construction

The CRC competition requires the construction team to build a robot capable of playing a specific game that differs each year. This part of the competition allows participants to discover different fields including technology and mechanics.

Programmation

The programming team works in tandem with the construction team to program a robot that will complete all of the game’s tasks. Students write the code using applications such as Arduino. The work is difficult, requiring a lot of attention to every detail. Thankfully, our female students are no strangers to challenges, they’re always overcoming them successfully!

Website

The students who are part of this team aim to design a website to showcase the robot, the course of the participants as well as the different aspects of the competition. This team brings writing and journalism ethusiasts who wants to put their talent to use. The work doesn’t stop there! The students take care of the construction of each of the pages of the website through various programming platforms.

Video

Working on this aspect of the competition, we find the people who exploit the limitless world of media arts. They must present a videos explaining the competition, the game and the robot.

Kiosk

The kiosk is a functional and artistic space created by each school to accommodate the robot and the group members during the days of the competition. The construction of the kiosk requires the integration of several skills and talents such as architecture, decoration, DIY, design and plastic art. All of this underlines a theme that unites the booth with the other aspects of the competition.

3D Design

The task of the robotics’ 3D drawing team is to draw various objects related to the CRC competition, such as the robot or the kiosk. They create multiple animations of the object in order to show how it works and highlight its details. The animations they create are then used by the members of other teams who integrate them into their projects.

Tutorial

The members of the tutorial team are tasked with producing an informative video/tutorial covering a specific aspect useful to the competition. The goal of this video is to improve participants’ knowledge.
