Presentation

We are a group entirely composed of girls from Sainte-Marcelline College who are specialized in programming, engineering, technology and more. In this way, we hope to prove that women have as much space in the fields of science as men. To do this, we participated in two competitions: CRC, in which we are the big winners, and VEX, where we made it to the provincial finals at our very first participation.

The Competitions

What is CRC ?

CRC Robotics is a multidisciplinary competition mixing robotics, programming, media, and writing. At Marcelline, we have participated for nine years. Each year, all the participating schools are tasked with designing a new robot in an innovative way while fulfilling the competition’s specific criteria. This robot is accompanied by a website, a kiosk, a video, and a tutorial. The points accumulated in each of these segments of the competition are used to produce a ranking of the participating schools. As a result of our efforts, we won first place, the Cup of the Competition in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022, and second place in 2017 and 2020. For more…

What is VEX?

The VEX competition is the world’s largest robotics competition, annually bringing together participants from more than 40 countries. Its objective is to build and program a robot capable of playing the competition game by performing various tasks. In addition to the games played by robots, the VEX competition includes two other two other challenges. One that highlights the skills of the driver and robot and the other highlights the programming skills of the team.
In our first participation in 2019, our VEX team showed ingenuity and resourcefulness. The young women of Marcelline Robotics won the innovation award at the Terrebonne regional competition and the best design award at the Ottawa regional competition.
Marcelline Robotics is proving that girls are successful in robotics, where most participants are boys. For more…
